(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON.) – The members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police would like to remind motorists to LOCK their vehicles when they park them!
Over the month of October, there has been a trend of reports from vehicle owners who are becoming victims of failing to LOCK their vehicle when parking it. Upon return they notice they are missing; cell phones, GPS units, coin and lottery tickets to name a few items and more importantly wallets and vehicle ownerships and insurance slips. Losing these pieces of identification can possibly make the vehicle owner a victim of identity theft and numerous other identity and financial type crimes.
