On the 15th of February 2014 at approximately 7am, police recieved a 911 call from a female who claimed a male was beating up a female at a southend residence.
When police arrived it was revealed that the male and female had become involved in a heated argument regarding a late night party. The male then pushed his girlfriend into the bedroom and began punching her in the face. The female attempted to escape while screaming for help at which time the male shut the bedroom door and held it closed preventing her from being able to call the police for help.
Police attended and arrested a 30 year old male. The male was charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was held pending a bail hearing. The female victim suffered minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.
