(Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, ON) – There were no injuries reported when the roof collapsed on the Amazing Dollar Store on Ottawa Street in Havelock today. Emergency crews attended the business just after noon to find the cave-in.
The Amazing Dollar Store was open for business at the time; but none of the three employees or the three patrons suffered any injuries. There was a roofing company repairing leaks during the collapse. The three roofing employees fell inside the building, when the roof crumbled under their feet. These workers were also, remarkably, uninjured.
A neighbouring building was also evacuated, as a precaution, in the event of a further collapse. Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire Service remains on scene to assess the stability of the remaining structure.
