Distraction Thefts And Break And Enters

The third distraction type theft in August was reported on August 24, 2015 at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Conroy Crescent. The victim reports being approached by a male and female in a vehicle and having his jewelry stolen.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1: Male, 40 years, heavy set, short neck, black hair, lazy eye and dark complexion

Suspect #2: Female, short, approximately 5’, olive skin colour, mole on right lip / cheek

Both spoke with a European accent.

The motor vehicle they were using is described as a newer model Hyundai, grey in colour.

Break and enter

On August 25, 2015 at 4:53 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Woodborough Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the garage and stole liquor.

This call is likely related to an incident called in on Woodborough Drive by an off duty Guelph Police officer at 3:15 a.m. He observed two males with backpacks and when they saw him they dumped the backpacks and ran. The area was checked, some property was found but the males were not located.

They are described as:

Suspect #1: White male, late teens, wearing a blue and white jacket and a fisherman’s hat.

Suspect #2: White male, late teens with facial hair and wearing a black ball cap.

Break and enter

On August 24, 2015 at 6:44 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Sullivan Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime overnight. A bicycle was stolen but another bike was left behind.

Break and enter

On August 24, 2015 at 9:40 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Huron Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) cut a screen on a window to gain entry sometime overnight. Numerous tools are reported stolen.

Theft from cars

On August 24, 2015 the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Stone Road West, Oxford Street, Norfolk Street and Bennett Avenue.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
