Desmond ELIJAH – Ditch Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash on Little Church Drive and Woodhull Road on July 4, 2015 at approximately 3:13 p.m.

A grey Chevrolet pickup truck had left the gravel roadway and entered the ditch.

Police determined that the 36 year old driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered and registered a “fail”.

The driver was arrested and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, Desmond ELIJAH, from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London, Ontario, court on July 30, 2015.
