Derek VERNON – Break and Enter X19

(NOELVILLE – KILLARNEY – PARRYSOUND, ON) – The Noelville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively investigating a series of Break and Enters in the Municipality of French River, Killarney, and Parry Sound. The Break and Enters targeted several temporary summer residences along XBay Road (Killarney), Small Duck Road, (French River) Pine Ridge Road (French River) and Bon Air Road. (Parry Sound) It is believed that the Break and Enters occurred between the fall of 2014 to March 13, 2015.

On March 13, 2015, the OPP received a call from a local neighbour on XBay Road, who advised that there was a suspicious person on his neighbour’s unoccupied residential property.

OPP officers arrived on scene and arrested one male. Derek VERNON a 24 year old French River man was charged with 19 counts of Break and Enter, Trafficking in Stolen Goods, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, and Theft Under $5,000 under the Criminal Code.

He was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2015 in Sudbury.

The Ontario Provincial Police would like summer residence owners in the Municipality of French River, Killarney and Parry Sound to check their properties and report any Break and Enters to their local OPP Detachment.
