(ST. MARYS, ON) On Tuesday November 12, 2013 around 8:30 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to the “The Castle Gardenâ€Â, a garden and home décor product store at 75 Queen St. East in St.Marys. The owners reported that a spooked deer had smashed through a window at the rear of the store.
The deer broke the glass and knocked over and damaged some merchandise that was located in front of the window. The deer suffered a cut on its back leg but managed to jump the fence and run along the footpath towards the park. A trail of blood was observed leading towards the river. Officers searched the areas along the park and river bank but were unable to locate the injured deer.
(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday November 12, 2013, at 10:20 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a motor vehicle / deer collision along Hwy 23 south of Kirkton.
The motor vehicle involved was an Owen Sound ambulance which was heading back empty from a patient run to the London Health Sciences Centre. The front of the ambulance sustained extensive damage and it had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported but the deer was killed.
