(City of Guelph, ON) – On Sunday August 25, 2013 at approximately 12:58am members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Highway 6 just south of College Avenue in the City of Guelph. At this time and location officers investigated the driver of a 2004 Dodge Caravan that entered into the check point. Upon speaking with the driver it was obvious that he had been drinking. The driver was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
Dean Hughes aged 49 of Brantford has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on September 17, 2013 to answer to the charge.
