Daytime Residential Break and Enter

(Town of New Tecumseth, ON)- On Sunday the 4th of January 2015 at 3:00 p.m. officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a residential break and enter on the 20th Sideroad just north of Highway 9 in the Town of New Tecumseth.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the suspects entered the residence sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. while the owners were not home. Stolen from the residence was approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry and electronics.

The homeowners observed a yellow SUV leaving their driveway just as they were arriving home at approximately 2:45 p.m. Not suspecting anything mischievous about the vehicle they proceeded home to find their personal belongings rummaged through and that their home had been broken into.

An OPP scene of crime officer (SOCO) attended the residence to obtain evidence, and the Nottawasaga OPP Street Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.

The suspect vehicle and driver are described as, a yellow SUV similar to a Nissan Pathfinder and the male suspect driver has medium length blonde hair, approximately 30 years of age. The vehicle was last seen travelling southbound on the 20th Sideroad in the Town of New Tecumseth.
