(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On December 2, 2014, just before midnight, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Wrangler for a speed violation, on Highway 401 eastbound near Scane Road.
During subsequent OPP traffic investigation, the officer detected a strong odour of what was believed to be marihuana, from inside the vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
As a result, the driver, 39 year old Dannavan CARTER, from Amherstburg, has been charged with the following:
Possession of Marihuana, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The driver is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on January 8, 2015, to answer to the charges.
