Daniel LEGUE – Break and Enter, Breach

(MINTO TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 31, 2015 at approximately 2:23 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence located on Nelson Street in Clifford, Town of Minto

Investigation revealed that a home owner was awakened by the noise of someone in his residence. When he went to investigate he found that the suspect had left his residence through the garage and was in his neighbour’s house. He knew this because he could see the flashlight shining through the basement window. That home owner was also woken up and both victim’s confronted the suspect in the basement and called police.

Police attended and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of stolen property and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The male also gave a false name to police and was found to be breaching conditions of his Recognizance.

Daniel LEGUE age 20 of Cornwall has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:

Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence
Possession Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000
Obstruct Peace Officer
Fail to Comply With Recognizance

He was also charged with Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was held for a Bail Hearing to answer to his charges.
