(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) On Sunday September 8, 2013, at approximately 7:19 pm, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer Heather Nellis was conducting moving radar on Wellington County Road 125, near Wellington County Road 50, Town of Erin.
At this time and location, a 2011 Chevrolet was travelling southbound well above the posted speed limit. Police clocked the vehicle on radar at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Daniel DE FARIA age 33 of Oakville has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on October 18, 2013 to answer to the charge.
