The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 110 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested and 3 were held for a bail hearing.
Breach of Probation
In the early morning of April 11, 2015, Chatham-Kent Police attended a restaurant in Blenheim, in regards to an unconscious female on the floor. Upon waking, the female became belligerent and refused any medical attention. When the female was queried, it was learned that she was bound by a probation order, with condition to be in her residence between 11PM and 6AM daily.
The 19 year old Blenheim woman was arrested and charged for Breach of Probation. She was lodged in cells, pending bail hearing.
Hoax – Terrorist Activity
On April 10, 2015, the Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by the RCMP to follow up with an incident. It was learned that a Chatham man had placed a telephone call to the Library of Parliament, stating that he wanted to blow up Parliament, as part of a revolution against Parliament Hill.
A 49 year old Chatham man was apprehended by Police without incident, and charged with Hoax – Terrorist Activity, as well as Uttering Threats. He was held in custody for a future court appearance.
Break and Enter
On April 11, 2015, Chatham-Kent Police Service attended an address on Goldpark Rd, Chatham, for a Break and Enter complaint. It was learned that sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) broke into the garage and removed two bicycles, golf clubs, and yard equipment, valuing $3000.

Drinking and Driving
In the early morning of April 12, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Police Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Richmond St, Chatham. The vehicle’s tires squealed while making an aggressive turn onto Raleigh St. The vehicle was stopped and the officer spoke to the driver, detecting the odour of an alcoholic beverage off his breath. A demand was given to provide a sample into an Approved Screening Device (ASD), and the driver registered a FAIL. He was then arrested for Over 80, and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for further testing.
The man was turned over to a Qualified Intoxilyzer Technician, and registered more than double the legal blood alcohol limit on both tests. The 31 year old Chatham man was subsequently charged with Over 80, and later released with a future court date. The criminal charge also included a 7-day vehicle impound and an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
