The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 115 calls for service in the last 24 hours.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
On April 9, 2015 a Chatham resident contacted the Chatham-Kent Police Service to report his car had been stolen. Through investigation police learned the identity of the accused, however, his location at the time was unknown. On April 10, 2015, the Chatham man was located, arrested and transported the Chatham-Kent Court House for a Bail hearing. The motor vehicle involved in the incident was recovered and returned to the owner.
Break and Enter/Possession of Stolen Property
On April 2, 2015 police located and seized sound system/PA audio equipment. The officer had grounds to believe the items were stolen and an investigation was initiated. Police learned that the equipment recovered was from the St. James Presbyterian Church in Thamesville and valued at approximately $2500. On April 10, 2015 the two males previously in possession of the stolen property were located and arrested. The two remain in Police custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter Investigation
Sometime overnight on April 10, 2015 an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Victoria Street in Ridgetown. A wallet, bottles of liquor and two Macbook Airs were stolen. Shoplift
On the 10th of April 2015 a female shopper attended the Sears store in downtown Chatham. The female was observed concealing property and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Police were contacted the female was arrested for Theft Under $5000. The accused female was later released from police custody with a future court date. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the store.
Domestic Incident
Shortly after midnight on April 11, 2015, police responded to a domestic disturbance call in Tilbury. Police investigated and subsequently arrested a 45 year old male for assault, uttering threats and mischief. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
