(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON)- On June 4, 2012 at 7:18 a.m. Huron OPP officers and Huron County Paramedics were dispatched to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a cyclist on Bluewater Veterans Highway just north of Point Farms Provincial Park.
A southbound tractor trailer collided with a cyclist that was also traveling southbound on Bluewater Veterans Highway. A 52 year old cyclist from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh was transported to Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Jason TANSIL, age 36, from Detroit, Michigan has been charged with “Fail to Turn Out to Left to avoid Collision with Bicycle†contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Bluewater Veterans Highway remains open for all traffic.
