On July 2, 2014 at 5:10 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of the Speedvale Plaza for the report of a cyclist struck by a car. It is alleged that the cyclist was riding his bike on the sidewalk when he was hit. The 23-year-old Guelph male cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries. He was also charged with riding his bike on a sidewalk under the Highway Traffic Act.
