On Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 6:50 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and a cyclist on King Street North in Waterloo. The male cyclist, a Kitchener resident, was transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The cyclist succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the motor vehicle, a Waterloo resident, remained on scene. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service Traffic Branch at 519-650-8500 ext. 8856.
