(SOUTHWEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ON.) – Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fail to remain collision that occurred on the evening of August 28, 2104.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., an adult male cyclist was travelling southbound on Culloden Line in Southwest Oxford Township, just south of Union Road. A vehicle travelling southbound struck the male cyclist from behind causing him to be thrown into the west side ditch. Witnesses of the collision stopped and assisted the cyclist.
The vehicle driver, who struck the cyclist, did not stop and failed to remain at the scene of the collision. The 33 year old male cyclist was transported to area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The victim has since been released and is recovering from his injuries.
Through further investigation, OPP are now advising the suspect pickup truck involved in the fail to remain collision may be a 2007 – 2009 Dodge Ram, and is red or similar in color. It will likely have or had damage to the front passenger side corner as well as the front grill.
