(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 1, 2015 at approximately 3:19 pm West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of an assault on Church Street in Parry Sound. A male had been assaulted, threatened and robbed by the suspect. Upon investigation it was learned that over several days the suspect had been seeking payment for an outstanding drug debt.
On April 2, 2015 police were near the intersection of Bowes Street and Great North Road in Parry Sound. They observed an altercation between the two males and arrested the suspect.
Curtis DIXON, 18 years old from Seguin Township was charged with the following offences;
Robbery with Violence contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
Trafficking in Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms as per the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA)
Possession for the purpose of Trafficking in Schedule II Substance as per the (CDSA)
2 counts – Assault contrary to the CC
2 counts – Uttering Threats to cause death or bodily harm contrary to the CC
He was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.
