(Huron East, ON) On November 22, 2009 at approximately 1:30 am a Huron OPP officer observed a van on Jamestown Road. The officer initiated a traffic stop but the driver did a U-turn on the road and left the cruiser. The officer followed the van into a private laneway unrelated to any of the vehicle occupants. As a result of the traffic stop a quantity of alcohol was seized from the minors. The following charges were laid:
A passenger in the vehicle, Graham ASHCROFT (18) of Wingham was charged with one count of Person Under 19 Having Liquor. The driver, Joshua FOXTON (18) of Teeswater was charged with one count of Adult G2 Licence Holder – BAC Above Zero. His licence was seized and suspended for 3 days. A third occupant in the vehicle, a 17 year old North Huron male was also charged with Person Under 19 Having Liquor.
