WFP has received numerous reports from individuals that state the
reason their business chose to locate elsewhere, is the fact they
can’t get water and sewer hooked up. Neil Vincent and his
council have apparently had this moratorium in place for years, and
only recently have put it in writing, according to one North Huron
Councillor. WFP has talked to several investors that can’t
believe Neil Vincent and his councillors are blaming the reporting
of the moratorium, and not the moratorium itself, for scaring
businesses away and stalling developments. Allegedly this
moratorium is holding up a development at the edge of Blyth, as this
moratorium affects all neighbouring municipalities that border North
Huron. This development would mean about 20-30 jobs for Blyth,
a significant number considering the size of the Village.
