(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Wednesday September 24th, 2014, between 8:00pm and 9:00pm the Quinte West OPP responded to several calls for counterfeit money. A total of five Sidney Street businesses accepted counterfeit currency in the form of American $50 bills. A total of 28 $50 dollar bills were exchanged at Trenton businesses. The three suspects were described as non-white males, wearing hoodies and jeans, driving a silver vehicle with tinted windows.
The Quinte West OPP would like to remind business operators and cashiers to carefully examine bills. Routinely check the security features of all bills – large and small.
