(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – On Friday, August 8, 2014 at approximately 12:00 noon, Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to assist after a cottager located a military flare that had washed ashore in Barrows Bay in Northern Bruce Peninsula.
The cottager retrieved the flare from the water and called police. The Meaford Land Force Central Area Training Centre was notified and their Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EODU) was called to assist in the disposal of the flare, which was used for marking man overboard”.
