(North Kawartha Township, ON) – On Saturday September 28, members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate damage to a Cottage located on Hulls Road on Stony Lake.
The cottage owner reports that at some time in the last month unknown persons on Stony Lake had been hunting Geese from a boat and it appeared they had shot towards his summer residence as there was damage from shot gun pellets to his lakefront door and patio furniture.
No one had been home at the time and the damage is reported at being under $1000.
OPP remind the public that they are responsible for the shots they take with their firearms and such actions although unintentional would be considered a Careless use of a Firearm under the Criminal Code.
