Cops For Cancer Head Shave Event

(HURON COUNTY, ON) Several Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers will be sporting a squeaky clean haircut come next week. Twenty officers will be participating in the Cops for Cancer Head Shave event with all proceeds going towards valuable research, information and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society. Cops for Cancer has raised more than $50.4 million for cancer research and awareness since it began in 1994.

The head shave will take place at Courthouse Square in Goderich on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. The officers that have volunteered to lose their locks for this great cause work out of the Huron, Goderich, Wingham and Exeter Detachments.

“Recently, I have had several family members, friends and co-workers battle various types of cancer. Most of us are touched by cancer one way or another; this event is an opportunity to honour them and make a positive difference. The sense of community involvement and dedication from the participating officers has been astounding” – Huron OPP Head Shave Organizer Provincial Constable Craig Soldan.

Please come out and support this fantastic event next Monday. Donations will be accepted on site or in advance at www.copsforcancer.ca
