(HURON EAST, ON) Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are investigating a theft of copper wire and tools stolen from a Hyrdro One site located on Hensall Road. Sometime between 5:00 p.m. on September 6, 2013 and 6:30 a.m. on September 9, 2013 thieves forced entry into the property.
Once inside the property thieves forced their way into a storage container and stole a red Honda generator valued at $2,000, a Dewalt mini grinder valued at $200 and a spool of copper wire valued at $800.
Copper wire thieves have been active in Huron County recently and police request the public’s assistance in solving these crimes.
Alert and concerned citizens acting as the “Eyes and Ears†are invaluable to Huron County OPP’s effort to combat crime throughout the county. Crime prevention is a collaborative effort that takes an active community to be truly effective. “If you see something suspicious or a crime in progress please contact police immediately†– Huron County OPP Sergeant Dale Bray.
For crimes in progress, immediately call 9-1-1and continually update police with a description of the events.
