(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment continues to investigate a motor vehicle verses pedestrian collision at a Hwy #6, Jarvis, Haldimand County, ON address.
On Monday September 15th, 2014 at approximately 7:18 am Police and Emergency Services were called to the Hwy #6 address after a construction worker was struck by a 2014 Chev pickup truck.
Investigation revealed that 53 year old Darlene HILL of St. Catherines, ON was working at the Hwy #6 road construction rebuild site and was in the process of crossing the highway when she was struck by the Chev pickup truck being operated by 29 year old Darryl VANBENTHEM of Haldimand County, ON.
As a result of the collision Ms. Hill sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
Ministry of Labour was contacted and attended the scene to also conduct an investigation.
Mr. VANBENTHEM was not physically injured during the collision.
