On July 13, 2014 Waterloo Regional Police responded to Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener where a small child had accidentally locked himself inside a vehicle at approximately 3:00 PM. The child’s mother was on scene the entire time and after several attempts to enter the locked vehicle, Police were called to assist. Police entered the vehicle and recovered the child who was transported to Grand River Hospital for precautionary reasons. The child was not known to be injured. The incident is being considered an accident and no charges have been laid.
