Collision Results In Charge For OPP Member

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On July 28, 2015 at 3:20 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was involved in a minor collision at the intersection of Highway 21 and Durham Street in the town of Kincardine.

Investigation into the crash revealed that the officer was proceeding northbound in a fully marked police cruiser, against a red light. The cruiser emergency lights and siren were activated at the time when it struck another motor vehicle. The officer received minor injuries; the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

As a result of the collision investigation, Provincial Constable Murray WOODMAN, a 28-year member of the South Bruce OPP has been issued a summons for Red-Light, Fail to Stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
