(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male driver after investigating a collision in Collingwood.
On the 28th of February 2014 at approximately 4:00pm officers were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of First Street and Balsam Street in Collingwood. Investigation revealed that a Ford pick up rear ended an Isuzu SUV at the intersection however the driver of the Ford failed to remain at the scene and upon driving away, collided with the Isuzu again. The driver of the Isuzu was transported via ambulance to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Police eventually located the Ford pick up at a residence in Collingwood where the officer was able to locate the driver.Charged is 49 year-old Jerry LEGACE of Collingwood, he is facing criminal charges of fail to stop at scene of accident and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 8th of April 2014.
