(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday October 09, 2013 shortly after 2 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a vehicle pull over to the side of Main St. North in Listowel. The officer approached the vehicle and after conversing with the driver, the odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected on the driver’s breath. Additional signs of impairment were also observed. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in Listowel where he failed two breath tests.
Colin THOMPSON (46) of London has been charged with the following two offences, “impaired operation of a motor vehicleâ€Â, and “driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in bloodâ€Â. The male has to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Monday November 18, 2013 to answer to these charges. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his car was impounded for seven days.
