(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Thursday, October 15, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of West Region Canine Unit, initiated a traffic stop on Highway 10 in the Township of Chatsworth. This traffic stop was the result of a joint investigation between the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit and Owen Sound Police Service.
As a result of this investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking. A search was conducted of the vehicle and a quantity of cocaine was seized from it. The estimated street value of the cocaine was $1,500.00. Offence related property including the vehicle, a 2001 Honda Civic, was seized.
The investigation continued and a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant was executed at an address in the Township of Georgian Bluffs where police seized cocaine, codeine, and trafficking paraphernalia.
Druin NUTTALL (age 36) of the Township of Georgian Bluffs has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing on October 16, 2015. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 29, 2015 in Owen Sound.
