(CLINTON, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, (OPP) Technological Crime Unit and the Huron County OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Clinton man following new evidence in a child pornography investigation.
On January 14, 2015 police executed a search warrant at a Clinton residence after receiving information that an individual was accessing and in possession of Child Pornography. As a result of the investigation, one computer and related computer equipment pertinent to the investigation was seized which contained images of child sexual abuse.
On October 14, 2015, police arrested Kevin VANBEERS, 46 years-old of Clinton and charged him with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Accessing Child Pornography.
On the November 4, 2016 further investigation resulted in Mr. VanBeers being charged with making child pornography (2 counts) and voyeurism (1 count).
The accused appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich, Ontario on November 4, 2016. He was released on a Recognizance and scheduled to appear on December 5, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich, Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
