Clinton Drunk Driver Sends 4 Year Old To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Friday May 13, 2016, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a collision at the intersection of Perth Road 113 (Embro Road) and Line 29, South of Stratford.

Investigation revealed that a Dodge Caravan driving southbound on Perth Road 113 was T-boned by a Hyundai Veloster that was driving westbound on Line 29. The impact caused the Dodge to enter a field on the South West corner of the intersection where it came to rest. The Hyundai with extensive front end damage came to rest within the intersection. Line 29 is controlled by a stop sign while Perth Road 113 is a through highway.

One of the three occupants of the Dodge Caravan, a four year old female, sustained minor injuries. The 33-year-old male driver and the 10-year-old male passenger were uninjured. All three occupants of the Dodge were Stratford residents.

The un-injured 23-year-old male driver of the Hyundai, Bradley SEGEREN of Clinton has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences: “driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle”, and “dangerous operation of motor vehicle”. He has also been charged with the following offence under the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario: “driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor“. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 13, 2016, to answer to these charges.

The Perth County OPP is continuing its investigation into this collision.
