(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday March 26, 2014, shortly before 5 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision along Road 130 north of Sebringville. Officers located a damaged Ford F150 pickup which had left the roadway. The driver of the truck could not be located at the scene.
Further investigation and a check with nearby homeowners revealed that unlocked homes, sheds and vehicles had been entered and numerous items had been stolen. Footprints in the snow, and a call from a citizen led police to arrest a male at a Huron Road residence in Sebringville. Subsequent investigation determined that the pickup truck involved in the collision had been stolen from an address on Highbury Ave in London.
27 year old Christopher WALSH, of the Township of Perth East has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
– Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 – 3 counts.
– Break, Enter and commit theft.
– Break and Enter a Place.
– Mischief under $5,000
– Breach of Recognizance of Bail.
He is remanded in custody until Monday March 31, 2014, when he is to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford.
