Women Charged with Drug Possession CK15028182

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two women following a traffic stop in Chatham.

Yesterday afternoon, an officer was on general patrol on Richmond Street when he observed a woman driving while using her cell phone. There was also a female passenger in the vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the driver was suspended from driving for unpaid fines. Through investigation, the women were also found to be in possession of marijuana.

The driver, a 19-year-old Woodslee woman has been charged with drug possession, driving while under suspension and driving while using a hand-held communication device. She was released pending a future court date of October 1, 2015.

The passenger, a 21-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with drug possession. She was released pending a future court date of October 1, 2015.

Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK15028168

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a complaint in Chatham.

Yesterday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. police attended the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in regards to an intoxicated man. The man was unable to care for himself and was apprehended for his own safety.

The 48-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in custody and released when sober.

Break and Enter in Harwich Township CK15028154

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Harwich Township.

Sometime between September 14 at 6:00 p.m. and September 16 at 11:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked shed on Mull Road. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a 2000 Kubota T1400 orange riding lawnmower and 2010 John Deer riding lawnmower. Total value of the theft is approximately $3000.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15028180

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s assistance regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime yesterday morning between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence on Raleigh Street. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a PlayStation 4 gaming system valued at $300.
