The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 90 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.
Man arrested for Break and Enter
Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a male in connection with a break and enter in Chatham.
On May 19th, police responded to a break and enter on Stanley Ave. The scene was examined and evidence was seized for forensic analysis. Police received information from the Centre of Forensic Sciences stating that a DNA profile was generated and matched that of a local man. Through investigation it was determined that 3 males were responsible for the Break and Enter.
On June 20, 2015 at approximately 8:30am, a 23 year-old Chatham man was located and arrested for fail to attend court, break and enter and possession of stolen property. .He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man arrested for Breach of Recognizance
Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a male for Breaching his Recognizance by not residing at an address as directed.
On the June 19, 2015 a 24 year old male was released on a recognizance of bail with conditions. Two of the conditions included residing at a residence in Chatham and to obey a curfew. Through investigation police confirmed that the male was not abiding by either condition.
On June 20, 2015 at approximately 3:30pm, the male was located and arrested for two counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Impaired Driving
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Chatham.
On June 20, 2015 at approximately 2:30pm an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner throughout the City of Chatham. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests.
The 51 year old male has been charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program. He was released when sober with conditions pending a future court date.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant with assistance from Windsor Police Service.
On June 20, 2015 at approximately 5:30pm the Windsor Police Service located a male party and learned that he was wanted on outstanding warrants originating in Chatham-Kent. He was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
