Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK15036339
Last night around 10:20 p.m. police received information about a possible impaired driver in the Tim Horton’s drive-thru in Blenheim. An officer on general patrol observed the SUV on Marlborough Street and a traffic stop was initiated. Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests. His vehicle was towed from the scene and will be held for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
Heibert Heinrich Friessen, 36 years, of Ebenezer Street in Ridgetown has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and driving while under suspension. He has been released pending a future court date of January 8, 2016.
Disturbance in Chatham CK15036347
Last night around 11:30 p.m. police responded to a disturbance between a man and woman on Grand Avenue East. Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman. The woman was also bound by conditions not to communicate with the man.
The 50-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply and breach of probation. The 51-year-old Dresden woman has been charged with breach of probation. Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15036295
On October 12, 2015 the woman was charged with two counts of breach of probation. She was released pending a future court date. On October 28, 2015 the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman and she was arrested on the outstanding warrant.
The 25-year-old Orford Township woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Breach of Probation CK15036322
On April 30, 2015 the man entered into a Probation Order with numerous conditions. Three of those conditions stated that he was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from communicating with a specific Blenheim woman and not to attend her residence.
Last night around 5:00 p.m. the man attended the woman’s residence and began to cause a disturbance. Upon police arrival, the intoxicated man was combative and belligerent.
The 43-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with three counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15036300
On November 21, 2015 the man was observed shoplifting from Sears in Chatham. Upon being confronted by the Loss Prevention Officer and placed under arrest, the man pulled away and fled on foot. Through investigation, police identified the man and a warrant for the offences of theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000, escape lawful custody and failing to comply was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The 19-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Stolen Truck in Chatham Township CK15036267
Sometime between December 7 at 8:00 p.m. and December 8 at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a blue 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a residence on Pond Road. The vehicle was unlocked and last seen with Ontario license plates 967 0FR.
