(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On Sunday March 9th, 2014 at 3:25 am officers from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Highway 400 northbound and Duckworth St.
A motorist contacted the OPP after observing a Honda pickup swerving across two lanes of traffic. The vehicle was traveling at only 65 kilometres an hour with no lights on.
As a result of the investigation, Charlotte MERTIN age 44 years of Carling Twp has been charged for Impaired Operation, Driving with a Blood/Alcohol Level Exceeding the Legal Limit and Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle.
MERTIN is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on Monday March 17th, 2014. Her licence was suspended for a period of 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
