(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in relation to recent retail robbery.
On March 11, 2014, at approximately 11:40 pm, a lone male attended, in a vehicle, at a gas station situated along the 1400 block of Woodroffe Ave. The suspect obtained gas, and then entered the premises. The suspect then produced a knife and made a verbal demand for cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries. The vehicle was observed a short time later by a uniform patrol officer. The vehicle was stopped without incident and the suspect was taken in custody.
David YOUNG, age 51 of Ottawa, is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, and breach of probation. He appeared in court March 12, 2014, and was held in custody. He appears next on March 13, 2014.
