Charges laid in recent bank robbery on Bank Street

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection with a recent bank robbery.

On April 23, 2015, at approximately 8:45am, a lone male entered a bank situated along the 1-100 block of Bank Street. The suspect produced a note making a demand for money. The suspect indicated he had a gun, though none was seen. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries.

The suspect was arrested without incident on April 24, 2015 in the ByWard Market area by Robbery Unit investigators.

Etkilik KAMUKKAQ, 43 years old, of Ottawa, was charged with the following offenses:

Robbery

Wear a disguise

Uttering threats

He will appear in court next on April 29, 2015.
