Charges Laid In Head On Collision

Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following the investigation into a head on motor vehicle collision that occurred on June 27, 2015.

Shawn Edward CADIEUX (age 32) of Tay Township has been charged with:

– Operate motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland Ontario on October 15, 2015.

SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY OPP INVESTIGATE SECOND HEAD ON MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION THIS WEEKEND

(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Old Fort Road in Tay Township at 10:55 p.m. on June 27, 2015.

Investigators were assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigations Unit (TTCI). Officers investigated a head on collision that involved a southbound GMC Canyon pick-up truck and a northbound Pontiac Montana van.

Tay Township Fire Service extricated the male from the pick-up truck and he was transported to a Toronto area hospital by Ornge. Simcoe County Paramedic Services transported the driver of the van to a local hospital with non- life threatening injury.
