Charges Laid In Firearms Theft – Jacob SHARRATT and Davis MINIELLY

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have laid charges in relation to a break, enter and theft that occurred in Listowel. Police were notified on September 21, 2013 of a break and enter to a vacant residence located on Royal Street. Property, including three firearms was stolen from the residence; two handguns and a long gun rifle.

As a result of an ongoing police investigation, charges have been laid against two males and a female.

18 year old Jacob SHARRATT from North Perth was arrested on September 22, 2013. He has been charged with Break, Enter and Steal a Firearm contrary to section 98 (1)(b) Criminal Code, Mischief contrary to section 430 (1)(c) Criminal Code and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) contrary to Schedule I Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Listowel on October 23, 2013.

A 16 year old male Young Person from North Perth was arrested on September 23, 2013. He was charged with Young Person Break, Enter and Steal a Firearm contrary to section 98 (1)(b) Criminal Code and Mischief contrary to section 430 (1)(c) Criminal Code.

Davis MINIELLY, female, 22, from North Perth was arrested on September 24, 2013. She has been charged with: Break, Enter and Steal a Firearm contrary to section 98 (1)(b) Criminal Code, Weapon: Unauthorized Possession contrary to section 91 (2) Criminal Code, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354 (1)(a) Criminal Code, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to section 91 (1) Criminal Code, Production of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 7(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 4 (1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She has a court appearance scheduled for October 28, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Stratford.

Perth County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate. One of the firearms, a. 38 calibre revolver remains outstanding.
