(South Dundas) – On September 29, 2014 following an ongoing investigation, SD&G OPP have charged the adult male driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision which occurred on September 10, 2014 at approximately 10:50pm on Lakeshore Drive, in the Village of Morrisburg, South Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated a 2005 Cadillac had travelled on Lakeshore Drive, went out of control and collided with a guardrail and a private dock. The vehicle then became submerged in the St-Lawrence River. Upon police arrival, the driver was not at the scene but was later identified on September 11, 2014.
Nathan TIBBEN (21) of South Dundas Township is charged with the following offences as per the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence Act (LLA) of Ontario;
– Fail to Remain at Scene of Accident (HTA)
– Fail to Report Accident (HTA)
– Careless Driving (HTA)
– Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Alcohol (LLA)
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 18, 2014.
