(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Over the weekend officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot checks resulting in the following charges.
A R.I.D.E. check set up on Cambray Road on December 11, 2015 between 5:05 pm and 5:45 pm resulted in Paul WATSON, 46 years of age, of Cambray charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on February 4, 2016.
Another R.I.D.E. check conducted on Ski Hill Road on December 11, 2015 between 9:20 pm and 10 pm resulted in Michel VILLENEUVE, 53 years of age, of Omemee charged with Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on January 7, 2016.
