(SEVERN, ON) – On Monday July 25, 2016 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision between a car and a cyclist.
The incident occurred on Telford Line in Severn Township. Severn Fire and Paramedics also attended the scene.
Both vehicles were travelling north bound on Telford Line.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) also attended the scene to assist with the investigation. Telford Line was closed for several hours but is now open.
The cyclist was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the cyclist is now being released.
Frank McMillan, age 63 from Orillia, he was an avid cyclist.
The driver of the car is cooperating with police.
After a lengthy investigation the Orillia OPP have charged Adam HAMILTON, age 37, of Severn Township with Careless Driving. He is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Offences Court, in Orillia, on January 11, 2017
