Catlin DAER – Drunk Driving, Breach X4

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 24 year old male from Central Huron is facing a court date for Impaired Driving and Breach of Probation Order charges after he was stopped by police on March 17, 2015.

At 9:22 p.m. on March 16, 2015 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call reporting a male had just left a residence near Bayfield and the driver may be impaired by alcohol. Police also learned the male was on several court imposed conditions including conditions that he had to remain in his residence 24 hours per day and to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.

Officers began patrolling for the suspect and a few hours later at 1:00 a.m. on March 17th a Huron OPP officer spotted the suspect driving a Chevrolet Cobalt on John Street in Clinton. A traffic stop was completed and upon speaking with the male driver it was noticed he had been consuming alcohol and he was displaying signs that his ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired. He was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

Officers also checked on the male’s court release conditions and it was determined he was failing to comply with several conditions of his probation sentence.

As a result, 24 year old Catlin DAER form Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 23, 2015.

He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
