(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment continues to investigate a motor vehicle collision that has now be upgraded to a fatal collision at a Walpole Concession Road #6, Haldimand County, ON address.
On Saturday October 11th, 2014 at approximately 6:20 pm Emergency Services were called to the Concession Road #6 location after a car collided with a farm tractor.
Initial investigation has revealed that a silver Honda car being operated by a 25 year old Todd HUNT of Norfolk County, ON was travelling along Concession Road #6 when it struck a large farm tractor head on being operated by 51 year old David MATTICE of Haldimand County, ON.
As a result of the collision Mr. Hunt sustained life threatening injuries and received emergency medical aid from Haldimand County paramedics and Haldimand County Fire Department before being transported to an area hospital. He was then flown by an Air Ambulance to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment.
On Monday October 13th, 2014 the 25 year old driver succumbed to his injuries sustained during the collision.
Mr. Mattice was not physically injured during the collision.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with the investigation.
Concession Road #6 was closed for several hours to allow for investigation.
