(Collingwood, Ontario) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist over the weekend with a slew of offences after a car crashed into a building on Hurontario Street in Collingwood.
At approximately 2:30am on the morning of the 18th of August 2013, officers received information about a car that had crashed into an exterior wall at the 98 Super Panda restaurant on Hurontario Street in Collingwood. Upon police arrival it was found that the driver had fled the scene on foot and as such the OPP Canine unit along with OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members attended the area in an attempt to locate the driver.
The male driver was subsequently located on Beech Street with minor injuries as a result of the collision. He was taken in to custody. Charged is 24 year-old Cameron JONES of Guelph, he is facing criminal charges of impaired driving, over 80, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to remain at scene of a collision, carrying concealed weapon and unauthorized possession of weapon. He was held for bail court on Sunday morning.
