CALEDON MALE ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED

(CALEDON, ON) – On October 19th, 2014 shortly before 1 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Regional Road 50 north of Columbia Way. The officers observed a vehicle travelling at a speed higher than the posted limit and the officers activated the vehicle’s emergency equipment to conduct a vehicle stop. While maintaining observation on the vehicle, the officers further noted that the driver was operating the vehicle back and forth within the marked lane. The officers further made driving observations that were consistent with an impaired driver.

The officers intercepted the motor vehicle and upon speaking with the male driver, the officers observed that he displayed signs of impairment. As a result, the male was arrested and transported to a local police agency for the purpose of testing.

The officer demanded that the male driver produce a sample of his breath. The male driver refused to comply with the officer’s demand.

As a result, Carmine SATINO, 31, from Caledon was arrested for Driving while Ability Impaired and Refuse to Provide Sample.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to make an appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on November 6th, 2014.
